These robotic lawn mowers are fully autonomous and the best in the industry. They all work well in most situations. I have been using a robotic mower for over 4 years now. The grass looks great and the machines still look brand new. They are easy to set up and only require a small amount of technical ability. They are expensive but when you add up the money and or time spent mowing your grass, you will quickly see the value these offer. I used to like cutting the grass but I would never go back. Keeping your robotic lawn mower looking and performing at its best is simple with these two safe cleaning methods. I prefer the rinseless method.
Hose Wash & Products
For light cleaning, use a gentle stream from a garden hose combined with mild soapy water and a soft microfiber towel. Always avoid directing high-pressure water into sensitive areas such as the charging contacts, sensors, camera lenses, and wheel motors to prevent potential damage. After the wash add a spray sealant. This is a must have for every mower. Apply after each wash. A few sprays and wipe to a shine with a high quality microfiber towel. Will provide long lasting protection fro the elements.
Advanced surfactants and emulsifiers penetrate and encapsulate dirt, road film, tree sap, bird droppings, and grime — then carry them safely away from your paint.

Mowing Pattern: Choose Zigzag (Parallel) for classic straight stripes or Checkerboard (Crosshatch) for a premium diamond effect. These systematic patterns give uniform coverage with minimal overlap and deliver the clean, professional look you see on high-end lawns.
Cutting Path Angle: Use the app’s custom angle setting. Align to 0° (or relative to your house/hedge) for straight stripes, or alternate 45° and -45° between sessions to create sharp X-pattern contrast. Alternating angles also prevents grass from leaning in one direction and improves overall health.
Path Spacing: Set to the narrowest for a “Fine Cut” option. Tighter spacing ensures full overlap so no blades are missed, resulting in a smoother, even cut.
Task Speed: Lower to 1.0–1.3. Slower speeds let grass blades stand upright before the blades slice them cleanly — the single biggest factor in crisp cut quality and visible stripes.
Cutting Height: Follow the one-third rule (never remove more than 1/3 of the grass blade in one pass). For Hawaii warm-season grasses like Zoysia, target 1-2 inches. This height gives excellent stripe contrast while keeping the lawn healthy and stress-free.
Mowing Frequency: Run the mower 2–3 times per week during peak growing season. Light, frequent cuts maintain perfect stripes and keep clippings small enough to disappear into the turf. Finding the right mowing interval is about balance. Cutting too frequently can place unnecessary wear on both the turf and your equipment. Edge/Perimeter Priority: Always enable edge-first mowing with 1–2 border laps. This creates crisp boundaries before the interior passes, eliminating missed strips along fences or sidewalks.

Mapping & Zone Boundary Priority: Achieve the most accurate and precise map and zone boundaries possible. After completing the mapping process, perform a thorough test run of the mower to verify that the robot smoothly traverses the entire perimeter without any errors, bumps, collisions, or unnecessary avoidance maneuvers.
Note: Most reported issues with robotic mowers stem from a lack of this meticulous mapping and testing process.
If any issue is observed—no matter how minor—immediately edit and refine the map until the perimeter navigation is flawless.
Recognize that lawn conditions evolve throughout the year (e.g., tree growth, foliage density changes, seasonal leaf coverage, etc.). Stay proactive and be prepared to update the map as needed whenever future issues arise to maintain optimal performance.
Mow only when the grass is dry — wet grass clogs cutting deck, flattens grass and ruins stripe visibility.
