Here is my 2017 KTM 300 XCW when it was brand new. This is a great trail / hard enduro motorcycle. Fully guarded out and set up to go deep into the Hawaiian jungle. We have some of the best riding in the world here IMO. There is countless acreage right behind my house with some of the toughest riding I have ever seen. These trails will turn a real man into a baby. All single track riding with non stop car size rocks weaving back and forth across large river crossings. Hill climbs, mud rocks etc. It requires a high level of Trials style riding to enjoy these trails. There is also a much mellower full blown moto park at Kahuku motor cross park. This is where you will find A-B-C level riding that will accommodate all abilities. Since the above bike pic, I have put over 3000 miles of single track on this bike making it due for a serious refresh and clean up. I ride right out of my garage so doing a full proper clean up after each ride is not for me. I sometimes ride 3-4 days a week and only do a real clean up when its wet and nasty. I ride my favorite small loop where it is 1 hour garage to garage but that time requires hauling serious A**. Cleaning the bike after each ride would make it far less appetizing to do every day. I call it a quick rip. Here is my loop (Handshift-Beautifuls-Leroys)if you know than you know! If you want to see it here it is. VIDEO Looks are very deceiving trust me.
Must have upgrades for the perfect hard enduro setup.
Front brake disc guard Go through the rocks with no worry of damaging your brake disc.
Rear brake disc guard Go through the rocks with no worry of damaging your brake disc.
Skid plate frame-pipe guard Another tool that allows you fly through the rocks without worrying about taking damage to the frame or your exhaust pipe.
Radiator guards Heavy duty aluminum radiator guards. Prevents punctures from trees and debris.
Radiator fan A must have for those slower high revving trails in warmer climates. keeps a big bore bike cool on the hottest rides. Easy to install.
Tubliss tire inserts Remove the tube with these inserts. Reduces flats and enables you to run really low tire pressure on those super slick days.
Hand guards Good hand guards will save your fingers and hands in a wreck. Do not cheap out here. These are high quality.
Hand Guard Bar Mounts Use these mounts to connect the hand guards directly to the handlebar mounts on the bike. Super strong and an OEM look. No jenky bolt on clamps.
Headlight upgrade Best headlight made. Pick you make and model year and the type of lighting you want. I have the pro version with 4 wide angles. Some versions have 2 spot and 2 wides. This would be a better setup for extremely high speeds like racing in the desert. At slower trail speeds i prefer wise agle for close rage brightness. both are great combos. Any light from these guys id pro racing quality. PIC OF MY HEAD LIGHT IN ACTION
Older Motorcycle Refresh (For Sale Or For Keeps)
If you have an older bike and want to make it nice again, consider these items for a refresh. I was considering fixing my bike up to increase the resale value. I wanted to hand off my bike to a new owner with confidence that they would not only enjoy the bike but get many years of good use with no issue. When doing a refresh there is a mix between making the bike look nice as well as addressing any present or future mechanical issues. The extent of your refresh depends on the current condition of the bike. Be aware that there is no making an old bike new again. I want to be cautious about spending money in the right places getting a good return on my investment. Here are the products that I replaced on my bike to bring it back to top condition. Be sure to confirm Year Make Model fitment when purchasing these parts. Spoiler Alert: My refresh turned out killer and I am highly considering keeping the bike. π

How To:
Spray the acid cleaner directly onto the chemical resistant detailing brush.
Agitate onto the surface to achieve full coverage. Allow to dwell for about a minute. Continue to agitate until the grime is broken down. Do not let dry. Rinse throughly.
Apply alkaline APC to the surface to neutralize and remaining acid cleaner. Agitate with the detailing brush as needed. Rinse throughly.
Apply water for a final rinse. Be sure to full remove all cleaners at this point.
Dry with a clean microfiber towel.
Apply sealant directly to the surface or when applying near delicate items like brake discs, spray directly onto a micro fiber towel and spread evenly. use a clean microfiber towel and buff to a slick feeling and a bright shine. Do not get sealant on brake pads or discs.
****Caution**** Acid cleaner can strip paint, etch metals and damage rubber components. Practice and test in an inconspicuous area first to get to know the product. If you are not completely sure of the possible outcome do not use an acid cleaner. Use the APC instead. Cleaning will be less but risk of damage is less also.
